Create an account at IAA
Once you are given a PhD contract, the IAA will help you through all the steps in order to create an account at IAA and to send the documents needed to register yourself in the system.
You can find a guidance HERE
Admission Application to PhD Programmes at UGR
- You would need to enroll yourself into one Doctoral Program of the UGR. Normally, PhD students from the IAA are enrolled in either the “Física y Matemáticas” program or the “Física y Ciencias del Espacio”. This is up to you and usually it depends on what your supervisors or PI prefer. Either Doctoral program has its own responsibilities and activities to perform during the PhD.
- If you have an FPI or FPU, or if your grant covers the enrollment, you must mark the corresponding option during the enrollment process (this means, selecting “FPI/FPU student” or similar).
- Once you are enrolled, ensure that you have your PIN UGR that will give you access to the “Acceso Identificado” platform from the University (Acceso identificado de la Universidad de Granada). This is a number that its usually given when you enroll for the first time. All the documents and communications with the University would be through “Acceso Identificado”, so it is very important to keep this number in mind and learn it as soon as possible!
- To create an email from the UGR, follow the steps HERE. As it is in Spanish, locate “Correo Electrónico” in the menu of the platform, choose a user name and a password, and your email will start working the next working day (xxxxxxx@correo.ugr.es).
- Also, save the Carta de Pago and Resguardo de Matrícula. If your grant covers the costs of the enrollment (as is the case for FPIs and FPUs), you'll need to give a copy of both documents, as well as the receipt that says that you have paid the enrollment, to the IAA administration. Additionally, you will have to upload these documents (also the receipt) to the “Acceso Identificado” platform in Solicitudes (more detailed explanation below).
